"For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone." These beauty secrets by late actress/humanitarian Audrey Hepburn, have been words of wisdom Lindsey Tycholiz has lived by for years. It seems as if they have finally paid off.
On the night of September 20th 2008, in the Host City of Port Huron, a lifetime goal was finally reached when 26-year-old Lindsey Tycholiz was crowned Miss MICHIGAN USA 2009. After competing in the MISS MICHIGAN USA Pageant two previous times, the third time proved to be the charm.
A native of Sterling Heights, Lindsey graduated from Oakland University with a BM in Music Education with minors in Theater and Biology. While attending OU she was very active in the Theater and Music Departments performing in many of the musicals and choral groups. Since then, she has performed in theater companies around the area including the Michigan Opera Theater as well as the Orlando Opera Company.
During her reign, she will be an advocate for Breast and Ovarian Cancer Awareness, the offical cause of the MISS USA Organization. She also plans on promoting Music Education and the Arts in Michigan Schools, a cause that is close to her heart.
In her spare time Lindsey enjoys salsa dancing, yoga, being outdoors, spending time with her friends and family and playing with her 2 year-old chihuahua Miss Gracie Lou.
"The MISS UNIVERSE Organization is a great way for young women to get out there and better themselves and their communities. In my years of competing, I have learned life lessons that I would have not gained anywhere else. I am who I am today because of the MISS MICHIGAN USA Pageant and the MISS UNIVERSE Organization. It's now my turn to give back to my state and nation all I have taken and learned in years past. " |
